Yummy Mummy Survival Guide
Some questions that Yummy Mummies often ask themselves – “How can I spend less time cleaning and more time with my family and myself?” “How can I be more organised?” Life with babies is rewarding, heartwarming and messy!!! Suddenly your house fills up with more things than you ever thought possible from baby bottles, to shoes, to toys that seem to multiply overnight! It’s simply very tough to cope with these new changes. The whole idea of being a Yummy Mummy is to take life a day at a time. Everybody agrees that looking after a child is a 24/7 job that can be extremely hard on you. However the last thing you want is to stress yourself and fall sick. Watch out for some signs your body sends out. For instance you know its time for you to take a nap when halfway through the Alphabet song you forget the words, or when you call your child by the dog’s name, the dog by the child’s name and you can’t remember your husband’s name at all!!!! (funny, but believe me it can happen). Sometimes I’m so stressed that I don’t even remember if I’ve done the laundry or finished the ironing. The most important Yummy Mummy Survival tip is to find something everyday, even if its just for 20 minutes, but make it your “me” time. For instance make grocery shopping your time. Leave your daughter with your husband, sip a Latte and listen to your IPod when you shop. Its very important to take short, practical breaks everyday…… that’s the only way you’ll survive motherhood. There is this great book that caught my attention – The Yummy Mummy Survival Guide, by Liz Fraser If you get a chance do read it. It’s a light and fun read. |
