Has play made a difference in your child’s life? Nominate now for star ‘players’
This is a press release from Fisher-Price. MummyNetwork recommends that you spend some time reading this, nominate and make a difference to the lives of people who support our children. Press Release The Pre-School Learning Alliance, in association with Fisher-Price, is calling for nominations for the Play Awards 2007. The annual awards highlight the importance of play in children’s development and acknowledge those practitioners and parents who have shown an outstanding commitment to encouraging and promoting play. The inaugural awards took place last year and organisers received hundreds of nominations from across the UK. Winners included father of three, Adrian Mosses, from London, who won the award for Outstanding Parent for his involvement with the Limelight Family Learning Centre. While the team at the Princess Louise Pre-school, Tyne & Wear, received recognition as the outstanding early years group. There is a serious side to play. It’s not only a great way to have fun; play is nature’s way of helping children to develop the essential skills they need for life. Steve Alexander, Chief Executive of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, says: “The Alliance firmly believes that, for very young children, play is inseparable from learning. This ethos is one which the Alliance has championed for children for over 40 years. It is a delight each year to hear about the innovative ways by which parents and practitioners are stimulating children’s enjoyment in play. We eagerly await this year’s nominations”. Nominations are welcomed for any individual or group who has made a real difference to the lives of children through play. Categories for nomination include Outstanding Childminder, Parent & Toddler group or Individual Practitioner. The awards presentation will take place in London in July, with cash prizes being awarded to winning groups or individuals to help them keep up the good work. Both winners and those nominating them will also receive a bumper selection of Fisher-Price toys. Anyone wishing to nominate may obtain an entry form by calling 01628 500303 or emailing ukpress.office@mattel.com Closing date for entries is 30th April 2007. Notes to editors:
