Here are lists of drinks that are good and bad for you - those that have a high calorie intake and those that are good for you health-wise. 1.Water: Drink water. It keeps you extremely hydrated without adding a single calorie. 8 glasses a day would be ideal, but drink enough so you are never thirsty. 2. Tea and Coffee: They are low calorie, giving you the boost you need to function. Tea is rich in antioxidants and there is some protection against chronic diseases. You can have up to 4 cups of coffee a day but restrict yourself to 2 if you are pregnant or nursing. You can drink up to 6 cups of tea a day. Drink black. Use skim milk and definitely go easy on the sugar. 3. Milk:Drink milk in moderation. Have skim or soymilk and restrict it to no more than about 8 ounces a day. 4.Diet Soda: They have no calories, but research shows that the artificial sweeteners in them may stimulate your sweet tooth. Drink in moderation and have no more than four 8-ounce servings a day 5. Fruit juice, alcohol, sports drinks: They have little health value and comes loaded with calories, sugar and salt content. For alcohol, avoid it completely if you are pregnant or nursing. Otherwise, one daily drink is fine. For juice and sports drinks, not more than 8 ounces a day. 6. Soda and fruit drinks: They offer no health value and are loaded with empty calories. It’s a smart move to have as little as possible. |
